On March 27, 2010, Wes Jacobson leaves the Seal Beach Pier in California to begin his bicycle ride around the United States to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Wes will be riding over 10,000 miles traveling the back roads of America and hopes to complete the ride before his 61st birthday in mid-October. Along the way Wes will be welcoming members of bicycle clubs and individuals to ride with him and help raise money for Charity and to join in the fun of riding
Wes is an avid bicyclist who actively rides hundreds of miles regularly and has participated in many rides including the Mt Whitney Classic, the Great Western Bike Rally, BRAN (Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska), Tour de Palm Springs, and Tour de Cure (which raised money to fight diabetes).


Wes will be accompanied by his wife, Judy, who will be traveling in their RV support vehicle. They will documenting the trip with video and photographs, and will be updating their journey regularly so that all will be able to track Wes's trek around the nation.
They will feature regular updates of the trip and information on the charity fund raising aspects including direct links to their website. They will be taking photographs and video to document the trip and to provide visual interest to the website (ie: local events, bicycle clubs and individuals that participate, and sponsorship information and visibility.


Wes was born in Long Beach, California in 1949, and began his working career early, starting as a paperboy. Wes served 9 years in the US Marine Corps from 1967 to 1976. He then Worked in several hardware stores and Sanyo Electronics before beginning his career at the US Postal Service as a letter carrier. While working for the Postal Service Wes joined the Army Reserve completing a total of 20 years military service before retiring from The Postal Service.

Wes will be riding a Trek 5200 Postal Service edition road bike and a Scattante Elite road bike.
